The enactment of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, is itself an achievement in the history of the movement of consumer in India. It provides protection and promotion of consumer's rights through establishment of Consumer forums under the Act that gives speedy redressal to their grievances and protect their rights with regard to the complaints against supply of defective goods, deficient service and unfair and restrictive practice.
'READY REFERENCER ON CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT, 1986' is a maiden attempt on my part on the subject. It is a digest embodying therein the cases on the subject systematically published in different Journals pronounced by Supreme Court, High Courts and National Commissions on the subject. It is not a mere digest of Case Law but a highly informative and comprehensive reference book, and a handy companion too. It contains section wise as well as topic wise the law on the subject.
This unique Ready Recknor is very useful for the advocates and Bench and of course to the Insurance Companies and all those engaged in the field of insurance and Libraries, because of its vast coverage on the law in the field.
This book is dedicated to my mother, whose blessings are always like a beacon of light to me. I am thankful to my family members, dear one and my friend Mr. M. L. Gupta Advocate who have not only encouraged me in compiling this book, but have also always remained with me all along.
I am highly thankful to Hon'ble Mr. Justice Y. P. Nargotra, J&K High Court, Jammu who has very kindly consented to write a 'FOREWORD' for this book by sparing his valuable time out of his busy schedule.
Inspite of my sincere efforts in compilation of this book, any mistake or discrepancy that might have crept in, please inform me for the improvement of book. Suggestions for improvement will always be welcomed.
